A message from your President
All,The HFCC-SSA needs volunteers for committees related to the implementation of various items within the new contract. If you are interested in being on the committees, please send an e-mail to myself or Patti Sellers notifying us of your interest, and which committee(s) you would like to participate in. Membership opportunities in these committees is limited, and I must have the membership list to HR by end of business day on Friday. The joint committees (SSA members plus representatives of HFCC) are:Community Service Committee (This committee will make decisions regarding community service opportunities)Professional Improvement Committee (In conjunction with administration, this committee makes decisions on the funds used for advanced degrees, certificates, etc., implemented as part of the new contract)Evaluation Committee (This committee, in conjunction with administration, makes evaluations for the "bonus" pay based on job performance, community service, etc., implemented as part of the new contract)In addition, the SSA is still looking for members for the scholarship committee. This is an SSA committee to evaluate and recommend potential scholarships to be offered to HFCC students and funded by the SSA.One last piece of information discussed at Saturday's meeting was the elimination of the Jobs hotline. As has been discussed at previous meetings, the jobs hotline has been eliminated. Future job postings will be announced by HR via e-mail and should be posted by building reps in common areas for those without computer access. The primary information source for available SSA jobs will be the college's HR website, http://hr.hfcc.edu/employee-groups/ssa .Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions.Thanks.
