Meet the nominees for Interim Clerical Vice President of the SSA - Vote on Thursday, July 27, 2017
The election committee has received two nominations for Interim Clerical Vice President of the SSA. This position will run from August 1, 2017 until December 31, 2017.Please review the bio’s below and remember to vote. Voting will take place at the SSA General Membership meeting on Thursday, July 27, 2017, which begins at 6:45 p.m. Only SSA members that fall under the Clerical Vice President can vote for this position. Those members are Assistant to the Dean; Assistant to the Associate Dean; Academic Affairs Assistant; Division & Department Secretary; Customer Service Rep; Student Activities Associate; and Library Associates.
The nominees in alpha order are:Michele Featherston, Department Secretary Student ActivitiesI serve the college as the Department Secretary for the Office of Student Activities. I started this position in 2000. I also served as the Business Manager for the Mirror News from 1997-2000. HFC has been my “home away from home” for many years. I graduated from HFC with an Associate Degree in Business and completed the Legal Assistant program at the college. In addition, I graduated from Cleary University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.My current activities at the college include serving as a member of the HFC Staff Council and serving as a volunteer activities coordinator for the Staff Support Association. I recently joined the bylaws and constitution committee. My activities outside of the college including volunteering at neighborhood and community events, serving as Treasurer, Past President, and founder of my neighborhood association.I would like to serve as the Clerical VP for the Staff Support Association because I believe that support staff require adequate representation and a voice for their concerns. Staff support play a vital role in the organization and I would like to serve as a voice for the clerical staff members. I take my commitments seriously and have the education, experience, and motivation to represent members in a positive and productive manner.Thank you for your consideration.
Marie Wojewuczki, Assistant to the Dean-School of Liberal StudiesService to the College- Staff Council, Guided Pathways Steering Committee, Grievance Committee, Constitution Committee, Community Service Committee, Professional Development Committee, and CPI Employee Portal Team.I have worked in Dearborn Public Schools and Henry Ford College for 24 years. I started my career in Dearborn Public Schools where I worked for 17 years. I transferred over to the college in August of 2010. I started as a Division secretary in Health Careers. During the academic reorganization of 2013, I was hired in the Communication Division as the Assistant to the Associate Dean, and very recently I applied and have been accepted as the Assistant to the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts. I am also a proud graduate of HFC with an Associate’s degree in Business.I am seeking this position because I believe that the SSA is strong because of its membership, and being an involved member adds to that strength.Thank you.
