Reminder: Performance Evaluations are due April 21st

The following message was sent to HFC-SSA members from Human Resources on March 30th:

We are working on launching the Performance evaluations on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. These can easily be completed remotely through the Employee Portal.  This is our third year of using Cornerstone as the vehicle to provide notifications to the employee and their supervisor as well providing an electronic evaluation form.  As you are aware, there are some glitches in Cornerstone that we continue to work on related to transcript reports and multiple triggers of certain evaluations.  We appreciate your patience as we work through these during this cycle.

Please review the information below to ensure successful completion of the 2019 – 2020 evaluation process.

Self Evaluation is due:                                              April 21, 2020
Manager Evaluation is due:                                     May 5, 2020
Review and Development is due:                           May 12, 2020

Employee Sign-off and full completion is due:     May 15, 2020

There are two (2) opportunities to obtain additional compensation. The first is referred to as a Merit Bonus and is tied to the annual performance evaluation.  Four criteria need to be met in order to be eligible for the merit bonus including:

  1. Community Service requirement completed (and attached to evaluation).
  2. No disciplinary action recorded in employee’s personnel file.
  3. More than 1 year of service to the College as an HFC employee. (You are still required to complete this evaluation even if you have not been employed with HFC for a year) 
  4. An overall average score of 3.0 or higher.

The Professional Development Incentive was paid to bargaining unit members in December 2019 for completing a minimum of eight (12) hours of supervisor approved training over this rating period. It is necessary to attach your training report to your performance evaluation. 

The Merit Bonus will be paid to eligible employees on June 19, 2020.  

Please remember to attach your community service documentation and Cornerstone transcript to your evaluation in Cornerstone. As a reference guide, I have attached the power point presentation for running a transcript report.
